Does this wiring look right for a stupid blinky light?

If you've been here a while you know i tried to hook up a fake security blinky led by using a "floating" ground setup to turn it on when the truck is off. That backfired because it fed enough current through the SJB to keep the timed systems alive which drained my battery.

I found this online... does this circuit look like it would work to turn the light on with ignition off and not keep the computer "awake"?

It will make the light work. Your 87A pin should go straight to the battery if you want the systems to shut down correctly though.

That should work. 30 to 87A is the normally closed contact. When the coil power is removed the relay will return to its normal state and the contacts will close, activating your light.

Some diagrams show 85 as the coil ground and 86 as the coil feed but it shouldn’t matter.

Yes, that will work fine

As asdm08 said you need battery voltage, most of the cab wiring will have Battery Saver voltage which you don't want

The Radio has a constant voltage wire to hold presets and clock time, that could be used, its power is never cut
