Does the power outlet in the '07 Ranger have auto shutoff?

I just bought my Ranger a couple weeks ago and I was just wondering, do either of the power outlets in the '07 Ranger shut off automatically if you leave something plugged in but the keys are out of it? I bought a bluetooth car kit thing that plugs in there and in our Explorer, it shuts the power off to the outlet after a period of time to keep the battery from being drained. I was just wondering if I left the thing plugged in after I get out if I'd be coming back to a dead battery in the morning.

No. It will drain the battery if you leave a constant drain attached. I have experience.
That doesn't mean you can't buy or build a current shutoff for, say, 12.1v if you want to.

It's quite a lot easier to put in your own aux power outlet tapped into switched power. If it draws more than a few amps, tap a relay into switched power and feed its secondary from the battery.

I'm sure that's not extremely difficult to do, but it sounds like it's way over my head since I have know knowledge or experience with electrical systems. I'll probably just have to settle for unplugging stuff when I get out of the truck.

It's not a big deal. I've left my cell phone plugged in over a night a few times I forgot it in my truck. I dont think your bluetooth kit would be any worse.

My cellphone hasn't been charged inside my house in over 6 months. The charger has also been plugged into my cigarette lighter equaly as long. 24/7 a little blue LED on the charger glows. My truck has yet to start, even after sitting up and not being driven for 3 or 4 days at a time. I wouldn't worry about it.

honestly I don't think your blue tooth thing is gonna pull any more juice than say your radio does (the constant power for memory) should be ok try it once and see what happens, if it does kill it you can always yell at us for tellin ya it'll be ok. :buttkick:

yeah, maybe I'll go ahead and give it a try this weekend since i'll be home and have a car to jump start it with, if needed.

I've left my VHF and CB radio's on over night with no problem....and this includes when it's been below 0*C. The truck has always started.

I've left my CB/amfm radio on for DAYS and it still started, but leave it on for a week and your truck won't start!:flipoff:
