Loaded, you bet your ass a cummins would outrun a PSD. If I wanted a fast reving engine I'd get a v8 gasser, diesels in pickups are made for low end flat torque curves. The simple fact is that it's a more robust and less complicated engine in a truck that is not inferior to any ford.
There is a reason semis don't use v8s anymore, it's unessecary complexity for no gain. Ford sells on hype, the manly "Powerstroke" name and "V8" dont mean shit to me but they sure sell to your average joe. I've driven an 07 6.7 6 speed, let me tell you it has plenty of balls for a truck that weighs 7K+, not to mention the factory exhaust brake is bitchen as all get out. The amount of bad trannys compared to ford are about the same from what I've seen, I know several people with CTDs with original auto trannys including a 1st gen with 300K. You wanna know how to fix the auto tranny problem? It's the same solution for RBVs, get a goddamn manual or stop whining when autos die, auto aren't as reliable, same as the CTD vs PSD, the auto is more complex=more shit to go wrong.
