I put out my flag at 05:45 this morning. I do it every year at the same time. One of my uncles was there and he made it home safe. He lost a lot of buddy's that day and saw terror from the Sky. He is one of the guys that shot down 2 Jap pilots from the ground.

They interviewed a survivor on the local news this morning. He was on the ship, the Ward, that fired the first shots. Happened hour twenty minutes before the main attack.

Dangitall. Now I feel like a perfect ass.

First time in 10 years that I missed Pearl Harbor day.


My great uncle was there. Moe Hauck. Came home from the end of the War and lived another 60 years with a piece of a US Navy ship in his knee.
