I have a 1999 Ranger with a Coolant fitting that separated from the intake Manifold. One of the two coolant fittings pulled rite out of the Upper Intake Manifold. Apparently the coolant fittings on the manifold are pressed and glued in. Poor Design if you ask me.

My Question? Does anyone have a permanent fix for this problem? I'm thinking that I could drill and tap the hole to except a small pipe fitting.
Any help with this problem will be a great help.
Thanks
Raymond

It would help to know which engine you have.

If it is the one that I am thinking of they like to rust. What I did on my wife's old taurus was to tap the intake with a pipe thread and put galvinized pipe and fittings together with red locktite never had a problem after that. Although I don't remember the size of the tap needed.

Yes, I already bought the parts. Probably do it this weekend. Going to do both the fittings.
Thanks
