No I had my hood on. Lifted it to see.....

you need an auto darkening hood, they're a little more, but it's worth it to be able to see what you're doing

Lol my hood is auto darkening, but my work light didnt shine where I needed it.

Let me know how the install goes. Front or rear? I'll be putting mine in the weekend, but it wont be in the axle on the truck.

Re-installed the ac compressor and wired it in. Picked up some hose and a pile of fitting from work. Now to just figure out which side is the pressure side and plumb it together.

mine is for the rear, i just assumed yours was too, but i do remember a post about a front locker.

my 8.8 isnt under the truck, yet, so i have the carrier out on my workbench, i think it'll make it easier to work with.

I couldnt find one at lowes home depot etc i went to a pump store like water pumps etc they sold pressure switches for 23 bucks. Told the guy what i was doin he said water or air it dont matter has the same pressure. He told me know to tune it so it turns off at 85 and back on at 65. Im gonna bump it to 100 soon as i get my tank mounted underneath.

What are you goin to use for an oiler? Some people i know who done the same say just squirt a few drops in the inlet if you dont have an oiler. they been doin it for years

I didnt find a cut off, but I found a regulator at Lowes. Planning on dropping some tool oil in the inlet side.

Just for a quick $.02 on the OBA thing..

For my pressure swtich, I just robbed one off a junk compressor. It was cheaper to pick up a used compressor off CL than it was to buy a new switch (at that time).

Ebay or industrial equipment dealers are good places to look for cheap oilers. Cheab being ~$20-30 for an industrial unit. But the reality is that you can get away with just dumping some air tool oil in the intake prior to every use. Heck, the S-10 gus (low riders running bags) run this style of compressor without any oil in them. They tend to last quite a while like that.

Make sure you have a decent length of hard metal line coming off the discharge side of the compressor. The pressurized air that's coming out of the compressor is warm enough to cause the regular air hose to self destruct fairly quickly. In my case, I was having a hose blow out every 8 months or so until I corrected the issue by adding a longer metal line off of the back of the compressor.

Copper tubing with a couple loops between the compressor and the tank will work best as it will dissipate the heat before it enters the tank...

Idealy if you have access to a mill or know someone that is, is to have the back of the block that bolts onto the air pump, machined flat and have two holes tapped so you can just run some 1/4 or 3/8's brake line to your tank or cutoff switch. Then it looks more pro and functions more pro and takes up way less room.

XJ coils in. I ended up cutting a little more off than I wanted to, but I finally got it back to the right height with some washers. Now my shocks are not only shot, but are also my limiting factor.

This is with the shock fully compressed. Still has more to go, but its already much better than before.

I also picked up a brushed metal gauge cover at the u-pull today for $1. Probably won't ever install it, but I thought what the hell. I must have forgotten to snag a pic of it though.
