disciplerocks's B2 build thread

XJ coils in. I ended up cutting a little more off than I wanted to, but I finally got it back to the right height with some washers. Now my shocks are not only shot, but are also my limiting factor.

This is with the shock fully compressed. Still has more to go, but its already much better than before.

I also picked up a brushed metal gauge cover at the u-pull today for $1. Probably won't ever install it, but I thought what the hell. I must have forgotten to snag a pic of it though.

what springs did you use?

Wow they look taller then my 6.5 XJ lift ones, but I guess mine were already broke in being used already. Looks great, hope it performs better for ya.

Thats next to my SJ 6" coils. Should have took a pic next to stockers.

Going to the u-pull today to try and get some f250 shock mounts. I may still make my own though.

Well thats kind of how I cut too much off the coil. I cut them so they would be maxed out when my brake line is maxed at full droop. So the coil would be my limiter.

Coils can stretch quite a ways, whereas straps will not...You can make your own limiting straps out of cable too, I've seen em where they take cable and standard loops and attach right behind the shock on the RA and the frame...BTW, talked to Jay, it's looking like monday for the axles, he's due in Kansas friday afternoon...

Thats fine. I'll be pretty busy this weekend anyway. I'll get back with you about the coils. I wanna see what I can do with these this weekend after getting some new shocks.

those f250 shock hoops are like $13 a piece new..
there's a page on here somewhere when i posted up a link to google and the guy found them on a ford part place for about $13

Dealership here can get them for $15.88. I just dont want to wait 3-4 days for them. I am impatient.

so you'd rather make them instead of wait 3-4 day?

Yes because I am going double shocks on the front and I would have to order 4 of the f250 mounts.

ahh okay.. makes sense. get to it! lol

i wanna make my own as well, i have the stock style upper shock stud on my lift shocks, an F250 mount wouldnt work for them.
