disciplerocks's B2 build thread

Had to completely remove the whole thing and bench bleed it. Thanks Greg for the help. Gravity bled the slave after you left and got it working. Welded the exhaust on and took her for her first drive. Good God does she get up. I have a whole new love for my little Bronco now.

Still a few more things to tidy up from the install, but for the most part she is ready to go.

sweet! i wanna do one now and be awesome like you lol

You should, but it will be hard to match my awesomeness even with a new motor.

yeah i think your awesomeness is just way too far ahead. but i think im gonna get a sploder tho an read your write up. and why did you remove your trans?

I kept my original transmission. Never even dropped it. Pulled the 2.9, installed the slave with the tranny in place, then dropped the motor in. It actually was easier to do that than it was to pull the motor, trans, and tc out of the Ex at the same time.

but it will be hard to match my awesomeness even with a new motor.

I doubt matching or even exceding the awesomeness of 4.0L swap would be hard...Just look at WCB2's swap in progress. And if one did a SOHC 4.0L swap, that would be even better (but not better than WCB2) :icon_thumby: I tried to talk Jay into going up on tire size as I can get a deal on a set of 8, but he didn't go for it, said it was too big for him :icon_rofl:

Don't worry Dustin, I'm not tryng to match or beat anyone's awesomeness!
Just an old man got tired of destroying his pick up, trying to build a B2 comparable to the FJ-40 I had over 20 yrs ago. And have some fun in my old age!
This is not competition, as noone is racing or competing for anything else. Just to have some fun, be with people enjoy the same hobby!
Yeah the oogles from friends both ways just makes it sweeter when something we build works! And the jokes when it don't and it's back to the drawing board, which is in all of our cases, a shop, garage or driveway for further endeavors!

Yep, no whose got a better rig, or races or competitions, just some good ole fun...and if one breaks down, we all pitch in to get everyone home Glad you got it going, Dustin :icon_thumby:

we try to be the same here. its all for fun and all but it still ends up a competition with my one buddy. but then again everything we do ends up a competition lol

good job on the swap Dustin:icon_thumby:

can't wait to see her on the trail here soon:yahoo::yahoo:

Yeah Dustin! That's rad. Lay some elevenses!

Good job on the swap bud, glad it all worked out well for you. It's definitely a swap that awaits my truck in the future. This thread will be quite a bit of help. Thanks!

I read that you are using your fm146 tranny with the 4.0. I also read in the tech library that there not the best combo together seeing the 4.0 could turn the tranny into scrap but who knows it may not. Glad to see you put a 4.0 under the hood, far from just doing a few simple mods that your first posts said you were going to do but then again who does that?

I said I was gonna put a 2 inch lift on mine and 31 inch MT's and not even daily drive it... Wow... Lol. Since then is paint, body lift (removed), suspension lift, motor trans tcase, soon to be 8.8, soon to be d30, already audio, and many other things. And still building. And dd'ing it! Lol

Yeah you didn't just do a FEW things to it... No one ever does.

Yeah I am gonna rock the FM for now. It may hold, it may not. I am currently keeping an eye out for a decent M5OD, but they aren't easy to come by around here.

Good job on the swap bud, glad it all worked out well for you. It's definitely a swap that awaits my truck in the future. This thread will be quite a bit of help. Thanks!
