Difference ? regular 4x4 and FX4 4x4

Hi All,could someone be so kind to tell me the difference, and would the FX4 be that much better, in other words $2000 difference, as I am looking at two 05's one is 4x4 XLT the other 05 FX4 both about the same mileage and condition $12000 -$14000. thanks, Chuck

Skidplates, wheels, shocks, 31 spline rear axle instead of 28 spline, usually way more loaded up in the interior... yeah, it's worth $2k. Hell, an optioned out one was like $32k brand new!

Plus the FX4 LVL2's were equipped with the Torsen limited slip rear diff instead of the standard ford trac-loc.

Thanks Guys, just don't know if I want to spend the extra $2 grand. the axle seems to be the only high dollar extra, I always change to my type wheel and Tires, and for that matter, shocks also ,on anything I buy, but sure appreaciate the great response !!
