detroit or powertrax

is it better to have one front or rear if you can only do 1 for the time being?

I read what junkie said, and I not disagreeing as I do not have experience with either. But I remember Todd said when he got one he put it in the front and it drastically outperformed others who had one it the back as it would pull him over obstacles rather than try to push only to sping both tires.

You won't spin out in the snow with a locker as long as you're easy on the throttle, sometimes it better to kick the ass end out anyways if the front wants to plow.

yeah i ment dry pavment.. im afrade the locker is gona lock both wheels if i gas it around a turn.. like i said i dont know how they react so exscuse my ignorace :) lol

On dry pavement, when you gas it, the automatic locker will lock, hence the automaticness of it. It will basically make your tires chirp and make your truck want to go straight, rather than turn, thats about it. It's not that bad really.

If you do give it enough gas while turning on sharp corners it will make the lcoker lock and the inside tire start to spin faster and sometimes chirp (usually on concrete). On faster corners if you gas it you can feel it want to go a bit straighter but you can still turn the corner just fine. I have notice no unusual tire wear with my lockright in about 8-9000 miles.

^^ perfect thats what i wanted to know.. its just the automaticness (lol) is what scared me about the whole deal.. but if your saying you get a under steer and not over steer then thats fine.. i figured it would do a 180 in the middle of the turn.

i think im set on my setup now.. im going to get BFG A/T's and if i do end up doing a bit more wheeling in the spring and find a decent place to go im going to get a powertrax no slip, and if i stick with the offroading ill get a superlift.. so now i got to work on getting tires, i think baby steps is what i need insted of getting the whole shabang for nothing. thanx again for all the help guys, your awsome!

Nope, for over steer you need either lots of throttle, slick conditions, or both.

i got the A/T's the M/T's were too exspensive.. we got a little snow here in worcester and i tryed them out a little, found the steepest incline with snow/slush on it and left it in 2wd and its a huge diference i dident need 4x4 to get up the hill.. truck also looks more like a truck now with bigger tires.. makes a huge diference, ill let yall know how it goes when i get back from the trails on the 23rd if i get stuck or not..
