decoding a ranger tranmission?

I bought a used trans (2.3 2wd 5 speed) from a guy and cl and want to know the year it came from.
I did not see a stamped steel tag on the trans anywhere, but there is a sticker on the trans thats has a bar code on it along with these letters and numbers, the bar code is printed on the right side of this combo below.
F57A
AA
B830199

my guess is this from a 95? cause of the F5?

Yes, would be '95 for F5 but could be from a later model, not earlier though.

F57A would show that 1995 was the first year it was introduced, it might only be used that 1 year without change or it may be used several years without change.
It is a year designation but not year specific

The part number doesn't come up because it isn't a part number, not a whole one anyway.

The F57A and the AA are the prefix and suffix of a part number, denoting a vehicle and year, and a revision level, but there is no base number to tell you what kind of part you are looking at. It's kind of like telling someone about something using only pronouns so that they have no idea what you are talking about.

The B830-whatever is probably a serial number.
