I have a decent amount of water under my front passenger mat. 93 Ranger.

Sometimes you eat the bear, sometimes the bear eats you.
Went to car wash today, and it's been raining. I'm not sure how I'm getting water under front passenger mat. It's not coming from the heater core, and my floor boards aren't rotten. Where do you think it could be coming in? I'm up for any ideas.

@Angry Possum ,
I would definitely check your coolant level. Next I would warm up the engine in a carport with a big fresh layer of cardboard underneath.

I hope that you are mistaken and it is actually your heater core. Every couple of years I clean out the drip edges above the doors, then reseal them. The other crappy place is the windshield, possibly the rear window gasket or slider. Since you have a Super Cab, there is also your rear side window seals to inspect/check for leaks.

I don't know how familiar you are with the environment here in the PNW, on the fringe of Seattle. It can be said, often it rains more than it doesn't; these past few weeks I have been dumping 6"-8" a week from my rain measurement bucket, it is a constant situation.

I was working on my passenger side and pulled out the mat and found mine to be wet, first time that's happened, and no idea how long it's been doing that :/

What type resealer do you use, got any pointers for putting it on there?

I'm always on top of it. But I'll check it . Thanks

@Josh B ,
ABOVE DOOR GUTTER SEALING,
• after thoroughly cleaned
I use clear silicone sealant, a ¼" bead, then fare it out with a spit covered thumb. Anything goes where I don't want it, I wipe off with a clean old tee-shirt.

Some have found rust holes in the metal behind the dash. The holes were in the gutter area where the vent holes are just behind the hood. I'm drawing a blank on the correct name at the moment. If the rain gutters, windshield, third brake light, and door seals all check out, that is the place to check.

Thanks 👍 and I truly appreciate the responses from everyone.

I just checked the antifreeze levels, all good no loss of any antifreeze in the overflow. It's normal.
There's no water in the cab area, so I'm assuming the 3rd brake light is ok. I'm not 100% sure, but again there's no water in the rear cab area.

I noticed where the water is collecting mostly, is by the inside carpet by the plastic trim molding closest to center of the door area. As it's wettest there.

I found this also doing a Google search.
I'll check that drain, shown in photo.
