Dealers Want the Ranger Back.

Good. I don't WANT the global Ranger to come to the US. The whole point of the article was to show that there is a market here in the US for a COMPACT pickup. The global Ranger is 9/10s the size of an F150. Why the hell would Ford bring it here? What the article was saying is that Ford should design and build another US Ranger (that is totally different and SMALLER than the global Ranger).

The global Ranger is ugly anyway IMO.

Well f you guys then, I want the global Ranger with the diesel.

Sent from the road while ignoring traffic

a f50/f100 the same size ranger as the last model year of production 2011?
2) 4 cylinder eco-boost engines (two sizes are currently available)
a v-6 eco-boost
and a turbo diesel.
upgraded interior and a body based upon the full sized f series.
with a style side bed available.
or go all out and copy a 53-56 f100 body in a smaller size..

I like that idea.

The rest of the world can keep their unibody trucks. We don't roll like that in the US of A.

Amen!

I just don't see a unibody as a real truck.. There is no way it can be as strong as a frame. Or as mod-able. That's why many of us are here is the mod-ability of the Rangers.

Also the global Ranger reminds me of a Toyota Tacoma.

Right right thing to do would be start over with a Gen1 body style, slap in a turbo diesel, straight axle, manual transfer case, steel bumpers, I-pod dock, led lighting all around and call it a RANGER. They would rake in more cash than a muslim terrorist who's friends with obama.

I dont think the solid front axle would be appreciated by a large portion of the target market segment.

A turbo diesel... For what? The 1% of people buying one that will pay the extra $6000 for an optional diesel or for the 30% of the people that (will never buy one, but) think diesel is cool?

You guys!

I'd go for a new ranger with one of three engines. Ecoboost 4 banger, 3.7 v6, or 3.2 powerstroke. Any other idea is f&$*ing stupid. The 4.0 produced weaker power and got way worse mileage. The power and mileage is why people want a 3.2 diesel. WTF are you talking about 1%. The 3.0 ranger is not all that ugly either.

You know ford was making the diesel ranger for years before the global ranger. I'd like to see the south america ranger that had the 3.0 inline 4 diesel.
