Anyone know if there would be problems with the autolocker in the D30? I keep hearing from all over that it is bad to have them unless you have locking hubs. Then I hear other say it won't be a problem. I want to do something in mine and dont want to fork out the $600+ for a selectable locker...anyone run one with the D30?

i've got a lot of jeep friends with aussie's or spartan's, and they say that its not noticeable on the road..

Got my truck up to 45mph and you can hear the tires humming!!!!!!!! On another note, may try to fight the cold and trim my findders due to they rub on my tires and I dont want that to keep happening.

I think that I have a 8mph speedometer error maybe 10mph. Just need to fill it up all the way, do some math and find out what my mpg's are, but Im being cheap and only putting $20 into the tank when I do need gas. Also check my toe in thing that I might have.

Okay on my to do list. Hopefully going to buy another Ranger for $100 off a co-worker that has a 4.0 in it but the truck is a gen 1 so the swap should go smoothly just copy the wiring. Downside other then being 2wd is it has a blown auto tranny but I plan on rebuilding the engine and getting a tranny off a 4.0 that is manual all the way around.

In other news heres some flex shots, most I have flexed my truck yet.

I like the wheels! :D

I've gotta tell you though...I made a mistake with a chrome steel soft 8. Damn things rust so fast in the snow / salt / rain we've been getting here in NJ

Ya if these rims wanna rust, nothing a can of good spary paint cant fix. Still need to trim my finders. One thing that concerns me is the weight of the 4.0 and the coils Im using up front.

i had the black soft 8s on my truck for 2 years and they never had a problem. the center caps on the other hand rusted bad.. but i just kept them polished and it wasnt so bad

can any of yall look under 2.9l threads and read my post i need some advice

um yeah bout that. talk about bein blindsided.

BTW mad style point's on the truck. i still think you really need to get it one color

When spring comes I will get the body done, but it isnt going to be one color. Im keeping the orange hood and painting the rest the color of the cab but first I have to finish work on its doors it getting, they have the tri-angle windows on them. Also got a dash intal kit for a CD player i got for towning a co-workers truck last week (pics are in the show off your truck secion in th Snow pics thread I made) so many install that wednesday and my sub will be another day after that.

Hey so I'm beginning the fab on my trackbar mount and today at the steel yard I fount out a flat plate doesn't sit flat against the frame in front of the coil bucket... I can see the front horns on the frame are kinda distorted like TPO tugged on it from the side. I'm thinking my frame is bent right there too. So my question is, did the plate sit flush on your truck? Can you take a few pics of the mount from all angles for me? And some specs on how you mounted it to the frame?

My frame isnt flat where I mounted it. I mounted it using 2 of the bolts that hold the power steering box on and then when I found out that it flexed a bit,, I just welded the bottom part to the frame, right above the bolt hole for the track bar. I still have to put a 3rd bolt in a hole that I made in the track bar mount wheere an existing hole was in the frame. I have actually had to weld it twice, first time I didnt weld it good enough and my weld broke. I would have bolted it but where I welded it, the frame is boxed in and I cant ge my hand inside far enough to be able to put a bolt in.

Ok that's kinda what I needed to hear. My buddy is really iffy about welding to the frame since it's heat treated. I did notice how difficult it would be to put nuts on bolts inside the frame. If you could snap some pics it would be greatly appreciated

Heres some I took awhile back, nothing has changed since then, should have painted it but all it has is surface rust.
