My Truck randomly shuts off....

Goooooood Evening Y'all,

So I'm working with a '92 Ranger with the 2.3 lima engine on some deliveries when it just dies in the driveway. Wouldn't start untill the next day, but yet started regardless. The truck did this 2 months ago as well. I already replaced the fuel filter and tried jumping the fuel relay(red-> black and lt blue->orange(or smth like that)) and neither seemed to work. I can't test the fuel pressure with the relay attached due to a lack of an adapter for my pressure test kit. The fuel pump was replaced 5 years ago as well. If there were any pointers of any guides to check or what else could be wrong then any help would be extremely appreciated.

Hello Again,

Sorry I failled to mention this, but I did smell gas a couple minutes before the truck died. It also died multiple times on the ~10 mi drive home.

fuel psi is key. get that figured out.

Pull the vacuum hose that goes to the fuel pressure regulator, if you smelt fuel the diaphragm could have burst pushing fuel into the intake...

The only other dumb thing that happens while hot but would restart in the morning is the crank sensor on a '92, had that happen, was stranded for like 3 hours then it started and drove home fine...

Also check to see if your fuel lines are leaking somewhere. I’ve seen older factory lines start to pinhole where it won’t spray or leave a puddle but it will weep gas

Thank y'all for all the help so far. I'll be coming back soon to report on those tests that were suggested. For this update now, I tried an OBD 1 code reader and didn't get a reaction from the truck at all. Talking about triple 0 across the board no sign of life on the code reader sign. Of course the truck did go through all the motions. I'll get back to y'all later tonight about the tests that y'all have suggested already.
