dangerranger1983 build

so whats the actual angle on the ujoint at the transfer case?

your going to have to take some pics of playing with the 4WD now.

I think we all want some ACTION SHOT"S !!!!!
let's see it eating up the snow

Problem is, nowhere to play in the snow around here and no snow left to go through. Really don't want to play in the snow to much until I get my tires mounted.

Looked up the manual tire remover and its only 60 bucks but my dad said "What if you ruin one of the tires doing it yourself?" Plus he also said I should buy some new rims to mount them to also. I think hes starting to like my truck more and more.

As for th angle of the shaft coming out of th transfer case, it not that bad actually IMO, doesn't make any noise driving. I'll get more pics. of that when I can.

Now that my truck is ready for whatever mother nature trows at me, mother nature doesn't want to do anything now. Couple feet or more of snow would be really nice about now. Need to keep th camera with me, just in case I do find some snow to go through so I can get a few action shots.

Right now saving up money to do my camo interior stuff, to cold to work on the truck right now.

Okay so had to run to a few places today. Got back and decided to see what my truck would do on the snow pile in front of the house. Wish it was taller.

Had the on wheel peel going on my front and rear trying to go up it for the last 2 pictures. Hopefully put an aussie locker in the front, nothing is going in the rear until I get an 8.8 put in it.

wonder how the locker will work in the front? heard that you shouldn't put a full time locker in the front unless there are lockouts?? I would like to get one but don't want to spend the money if it wont work.

Like the action shots. We NEED more snow here also.

Its not a full time locker, more of a limited slip kind. Its perfect for snow, ice and mud.

the aussie is like a lockrite, not full time locked... just auto enage. the work great.. i hope it works out in the d30 with no hubs.. i don't see why it wouldn't? a bunch of jeep guys run them in the front, or a locker similar to it.

After work tonight, tried to climb a larger snow pile and I get so high until I only have one wheel on each axle spinning, making it hard to climb a simple thing like that harder to do. Safe to say, its going to get an aussie put in the D30, could only imagine it in some mud going up a hill. But the tires Im running dont provide much traction either, they fill up with snow too easily and it packs up in them, basically like running bald tires.

An aussie locker is only $250, not to bad for making my D30 a little more useful IMO. Only thing is a ranger weighs more meaning the locker may slip sooner and not finction as well as it would on a jeep but I think I should be fine. Another thing is I dont think you have to re-setup you gears either when you put an aussie locker in either.

Right now, I just want to go have a little fun with my truck but not push my limits. Plus I have a few ideas to make her look better such as my camo interior, and the tire holder that kroussinoffroad has.

Im always open to ideas that will make this truck more functional.

have you checked into getting a spartan locker? think ther are a little cheaper than the ausie

sweet ranger man nice build an the action shots are cool cant wait to see more

Thanks sohc86-06

I would rather stick with a brand name or a well known name when it comes to lockers, and in the case of having one of these types of lockers, going cheap can be a bad decision.

Spartan is about the same as Aussie. Just newer to the market. Ive only heard good but... They are newish so..

The lock rite I have works great in my 3/4 ton Ford and it puts the power to the tire with the most traction mine also snaped the axle with the most traction. Funny story really. I had to get pulled back to less aggresive terrain.

I love my aussie, no problems steering, drive 4x4 on the road with no issues. Works great, gonna buy one for the rear too.
