dangerranger1983 build

So basically what you are saying is when I turn the high setting on I'm actually turning both on and that can cause a problem.

When I hook the high speed wire up when the fan is on or off the speed is the same.

I need to look into how the Taurus setup is wired from the factory. I think I'm already running the Taurus relay, just not all the wiring to it. I will say however the high setting was hooked up by the PO, it has an eye-let end on the high speed wire. Im running the wiring that he ran but since his truck was used in drag racing, I assume it was hooked up to turn on with the truck off via toggle switch to cool it off.

I first need to get a new temp gauge and see how hot my engine is first and then go from there but will consider the 5 pin relay. My dad it's good with wiring and whatnot, I suck at it (who do you think has wired this truck to this point?)

So what would you say is a good size relay that I should be hooking up for the high setting? If I can't find a single cheap enough, like you said I can pigtail/daisy wire relays to split the load (I will have to look up how to do that one). Maybe I can pop a few hoods at my local jy and nab a relay that way.

I do need to finish getting my cooling system hooked up, right now it's not hooked up to the over flute and pukes on the ground when filled up like it should when warmed up, just need to get a couple of 90 barbs and some hose too get output hooked to the overt flow tank.

Got a three day weekend coming up so I will try to squeeze getting the cooling system hooked up right and a new temp gauge in with me hopefully finishing the xmember.

sorry i am not answering all of you questions....

yes its possible to damage your fan if both poweres are active....

with the taurii type fans i have used double 40 amp setups with no real issues. (thats the feed of one fan speed with heavy gauge wire across two relays) i have hurt the fox 4 cyl mustang fan switches though as i think the cheaper relays pull too much to throw them. this of course is solved with a low pull relay to throw the two other relays....gets to be a bit of wiring but if you pull a 3 pack unit that runs the eec and fuel pumps from certain crownvics/lincolns you will have it all in one nice neat package. i usually have those laying around but i built a few harnesses recently and they were incorporated into those.

this is the relay setup from the vic type cars.

i also use cryden transistor relay units when i get get them, but i cant get for or sell them to others so i rarely show or mention them....

basically the typical parts store 40 amp ones are cheap and easy for most to get and work with.

the 5 pole ones used to be the standard at a typical parts store but i notice the last 5 years or so they are hard to find.

i gave my last cryden setup to another guy and want to replace it again soon. i am only running low speed on my 6.5 setup at the moment, but have a fresh gm switch i am going to test out next for my single low speed automatic setup.

I found out today that my dad has a giant ass satellite dish thing that his aunt wants taken down out of her yard and we get to sell the scrap an we do that at our local jy so I may look for a relay setup like that, along with discussing with my dad that way or if he can do it another way.

Anybody know how to wire these up? They have the blue and white shed attached to them and then screw prongs with positive and negative along with the S prong for the sensor. I have the temp sensor for its gauge but what do/can I use for the oil sensor hookup to the block, will a canister type that hooks to a 302 (if they made them) work out an I after their brand?

I don't want to put them on my dash due to the sun will ruin them so plans are for a pillar mount.

Well I got pulled over last night from a cop that said he has been following watching me drive my truck for a week. Huge didn't like that my top lights wetter on because they are "blinding", told him after almost two years of having them, he is the first cop of any kind to complain. Also my ball receiver on my bumper is now a problem with blocking my plate after ten years of being on my truck, came with the bumper but couldn't get it off due to it was welded on so we left it on. And my plate lights were red in color..one of the bulbs had turned itself orange over the years of use.

My red plate lights compared to my tail light.

How much my plate was being blocked.

So the solutionfor the plate being blocked...

For the bulb, changed it out.

As for my top lights, I just won't turn them on in town for awhile. He also didn't write me a warning, he basically put a BOLO in my truck and said I could be pulled over tomorrow (today now) if things aren't fixed...I have 72 hours by law to fix the "problems". He never said I had to take my lights down, just not to have them on.

Plus after I got home, the boss that drives the SUV police vehicle was parked in a space behind my truck.

So tonight, take a new way home.

yeah.....once i quit drinking i quit giving a fawk about getting pulled over. and i get pulled over consistantly outside of michigan. sometimes 8-9 times between lower ohio and florida border. it gets disgusting at times but goes with the territory. sometimes i dont get pulled over at all. sometimes they stop me just to look at it and ask questions:dunno:

be reasonable, genuine---yet assertive. the lights.....well those are not needed in town....so i would not have em on anyway. seems reasonable to me to keep them off unless needed.

without doing a personal inspection i cant say for sure, but based on the pictures provided throughout your build your vehicle is quite reasonable and safe imo. for what it is i would never have a fear of it.

at that anyone complaining will have to solidly convince me otherwise or go fawk themselves.

Found out a buddy of mine git pulled over a few streets down. They told him they were looking for a lifted truck with black and gray paint job, what he and I have because a truck with that description was seen shooting a bb gun at people in the area. But the model they were looking for was a Chevy.

Got this in the mail, came a few days ago but just got to picking it up. Was custom made by a buddy off Facebook. Good thing is, the ranger emblem on the shirt is exactly what's on my truck now. Only $10 total for the shirt too.

I dig the shirt! The cops around me don't really mess with you unless you piss them off. I hope they leave me alone about fw axles. Nobody around here has anything like this so it should be interesting.

Nobody in my area has a truck like mine either. They dont know what all I have done either, they just see a lifted truck with mud tires.

Thats what I love about your truck. A one off sleeper

I would like to get this sleeper to be 4wd again lol. Won't be able to those coming weekend due to a ranger meet in my state sit at best I will be polishing my turd.

On the other hand, found light how a 5 pin relay works and how to wire one up for my fan.

When you are at work and on the toilet, you tend to type fast and hope that stuff spells the way you want when you are using a Swype keyboard. Easier then typing with my fat thumbs.

And you all got what I said :thefinger:
