Anybody have a diagram for a gen 1 ranger wiper assembly? Driver side arm keeps coming off to the wiper to the motor. What holds the arm onto the wiper i.e. bolt, eclip, etc...

I wonder if it is part number 3 that fell off, the clip. But for that price, i will buy elsewhere if it's not just sitting in the cowl. I will have to take the finder off to get to the clip.

Driverside windshield wiper linkage came off and there isn't a clip they holds it together, its the bushing that does and it is wore out to where it doesn't want to hold on. But due to cold weather and lack of funds, not much i can do right now.

Also the top lights quit working and didn't get time to find out why.

I hate having a week off work and no funds to get stuff done. Got my taxes done and hopefully be able to get the truck to where i want it.

Now my truck is backfiring out the exhaust for no reason other then maybe the sudden change in weather. Ran fine yesterday but today started it up and was driving when it started doing it. Still drives the same other then the backfire.

is it the older v8 that needs the lead in the gas to help seal the exhaust valves????

Could you have a exhaust leak?
Does it only do it when you down shift?

If I'm not mistaken, If he has hardened valves he should be OK. Otherwise, they just get obliterated.

I bet it's the weather. Perhaps it knocked it out a bit...Might just need a quick tune.

Its a 91 engine so it doesn't need lead.

I think it may be the weather, might be running to rich now too. Problem is, i don't have any of my tools at my new placr since im in an apartment now. I could also have a leak around one of the headers allowing cold air into the exhaust and making the unburned fuel ignite. Only happens when i am off the gas and the engine is slowing me down or when i idle rev it up and rpms drop back down.

Looked it up for when it happens, could be to lean, not that for sure, header gasket leak or coming loose from the head.

IIRC lead was put in the fuel as an anti-knock agent. It really shouldn't cause any issues if the fuel has the proper octane rating.

I've seen old engine run for years on unleaded fuel with no modifications.
