Is it the 1210 yoke or a 1310? If its the smaller of the two I have one sitting here.

Its the smaller one, whatever comes from the factory in 83 and Im told those are the small ujoints, 1210's. The only one that I have that is 1310 is the pinion yoke on the D30.

As far as driving, it seems weird, but does get me to work and back so it will do for now. Hopefully have it fixed soon.

It should. Get this thing fixed so that I can get back to my 302 stuff.

Part came in but will have to wait till I get paid before I can get a ujoint put on the driveshaft.

Its longer then my current one but I have had to pull the driveshaft slip part to get it to output yoke.

Right now need to get a harmonic puller so that I can get my HO cam in my 302.

That because the yoke was for a cv double cardan. I just converted it to use the u-bolt strap.

is the nut going to be able to tight down on the longer one, or will the shaft coming out be to short for the longer yoke??

It should be fine, but I sent a washer and nut with it anyways. That is why there is a zip tie around the yoke.

DR83 in case you didn't know, that nut should be a 30mm.

Had the nut off when I changed out the output seals and have to say, they werent seized on either. I will say if it for some reason it cant work I will drill out my current yke and use the straps on it. I will have to grind a bit off the back for the nuts to be able to fit. I think dept wise they are the same, its just this one goes out further.

Now as for what I said I was going to do, I did. I found my puller in a draw that I forgot about and I remember saying to myself that if I put it here I will remember. Well found it by dumb luck.

Got the timing chain off too but made sure that I had it on TDC and whatnot. Also cleaned the timing cover and a couple of the pulley's.

How much slack should a timing chain have? This one seems to have more then it seems it should, you could turn the crank a bit before the cam shaft would turn, if the engine was rotated the opposite way then the correct way.

It's just me, but I would change the chain and gears, but that's just me, I'm nuts that way, I have a 4.0 in the garage that I took out of a Running 92 Exploder, and I changed the the oil pump and gear set on it, I'm also going to change the water pump also, I have already changed out most of the seals, Just waiting to get more cash saved up, that puppy is going into the BII sometime.

Right now I am looking for a new timing set. I have read on other forums that the summit set has alot of slack new so Im going to stay away from them.

Anybody have any suggestions on a good set, but not one that will break the bank (a link would make life great too if you suggest one)?

I will also be asking this question in the v8 section in my question thread, if I can find it again.
