dangerranger1983 build

Ordered a new timken front bearing on the 8th from rockauto.com and it arrived today. to bad, they get a thumbs up for service. Good part is, only $50 bucks for it, half price!!!

Hopefully be putting it on Saturday after hunting.

yeah i'm hunting saturday to!! can't wait... then the 19th is opening for gun season.

My bday is on the 19th and yes I will be going hunting that day too. Have been since I was 18 and killed a deer on my 18th too.

opening day here for firearm deer is the 15th. i'll be hard at work in the garage to get my truck done so Maybe i can hit up the last week of the seasone in the explorer

Hopefully tomorrow (today, whenver I wake up) I will be changing the bearing and be done with that kind of mess...for a little while, until I get the other axle shafts ujointed and warm weather returns and I can tear appart my D30, new seals, axles, etc... on it along with the future v8 swap.

I read that an NP205 can be made into a dual stick giving me FWD low/high and RWD low/high and 4wd low/high with just a simple mod. May just get the engine first and tranny/transfercase shop later.

Your d30 and 7.5 is not gonna hold up to a v8.

it will be a good reason for him to upgrade to 1 ton axles :)

The D30 will but the 7.5 wont for long that is. D30's were put under grand cheerokes that had v8's or engines that had the horsepower of what I plan on putting under the hood, which will be about 150hp, not enough to harm any of them really.

Got the bearing changed and the other one wasnt to in to bad of shape at all, just had noise when turned by hand and easily spins but doesnt have any play in it so will keep it as a spare. It too is a timken. Wish I had the front axle ujoints done and had the time to get the front axle rebuilt but will just have to wait till next yer when I plan on going over everything on her.

What I do need to do is get new brake rotors, my are all pitted and grooved bad, no wonder the front shakes a bit when the brakes warm up when I stop.

Well 7 hours and 250 miles of totall driving and this is what I have now!!!!!!!:headbang::icon_hornsup::yahoo::woot:

Has an oil filter relocation adaptor on it with some fittings so may try to use that and save some money. I think it may have been in a ranger before due to that but not sure but was going to be used in one. My brother in law has a 4 barrel intake (factory one) and carb for a 302 and said that he would sell them to me for $50 so going to get those.

Plans are depending on budget and whatnot...

Tear it down and replace all the gaskets (this will happen)
HV oil pump (will happen)
Get a single belt setup along with a reverse flow water pump setup (maybe)
See about different exhaust manifolds or if I can use what it has
HO cam (maybe)

More pics to come soon, ran out of daylight.:annoyed:

Ah, that explains it. Hope you got a good deal driving all the way here for it.
So it was a 250 mile round trip?

Yes 250 miles round trip.

Wish i could have seen your truck while I was up there. Let the research, questioning and mind boggling begin.

Those are explorer 5.0 manifolds that were put on the engine before who I bought the engine off of.

Told they are far from ideal and not for built engines but I will see how they work for me and my application.
