dangerranger1983 build

I will definatly be getting an adjustable track bar but it will have to wait a bit longer, going to a gun show Saturday to buy me a new toy.

As for a frame mount, its homemade and ugly as hell but works, just need to see if its flexing/moving and what not. Hope to finish up the steering this weekend and start on my brakes.

As far as buying my D30, I got mine for free almost a year ago. The second I heard about being able to do SAS on rangers I wanted to do it and two weeks later, got a call saying that my bro on law had one and asked if I wanted it. The truck gods smiled upon me.

I'll get pics tomorrow of all of this. After I get the brakes done, I have some old tires on rims laying around and a long 10x2......might try for some flex shots in the driveway.

i have a stock xj track bar bracket i can give you.

A frame mount? Think it will hang low enough? Have pics, I might be interested.

it should. i designed my mount off of the stock one. i will post a pic of it when i get off work tonight.

Here are pics of the bracket. It is 4" from frame side to the bottom

Pm sent for that.

Okay everybody here my current problem. The wheels are straight but my stering isnt as noted by my pitman arm. Now, if I were to take my pitman off and rotate it, do you think ths may help fix my problem? I can only make one more turn to my left with the wheel and can go any further which means I can barrley turn left but yet turning right, it turns enough that I can turn on a dime.

In the mean time, have to start on the brakes.

Looks like you need a shorter drag link. Is you axle centered under the truck? Looks like it could go more to the passenderside by the picture, that would help.

As far as removing the pitman arm and rotating it, can't do it, it is keyed and splined to go on one way.

Is there any way you could cut and shorten the bar, then weld it back up??

I don't know if the 4 wheeling gods say this is a no no, but if it's not a no no, then I would try that till you could find what you needed

Robert

Yeah, you can shorten it, but it should be sleeved with a piece of tube....steering isn't anything you would want to mess with.

I agree, by the pic it does look like it is shifted to the driver side more. That would maybe fix it. This is where the adjustable track bar would come in play. You could also cut and shorten the track bar in the meantime.

I would get the axle centered before you change anything with the steering.

I have to jack the truck back up anyways so that I can pull the axle back a bit, so while Im there I'll get it all centered and what not.

More good news though, got the brake lines ran. Just need to secure them down and bleed them. Much cheaper then extended brake lines.

About less then a week from driving her again I hope.

How did you run the lines? Down the arms like I did?

Nice build man. I would make a skid plate for that diff cover.

Yes I did, may not look the exact same but same type of set-up. I'll get pics of them when I get them all secured and what not.

The guys at Autozone cant believe what Im doing to my truck, they want to see it.

Lol the guys at Autozone hate when I come in. They are all the "well what vehicle is it for" type. I always have to look it up on their site first and bring them a part number.
