dangerranger1983 build

Got as far as putting oil in the diff. today due having to work early, might try to work on it after work.

Hey at least you got someting done on it.

Yaaa, progress. Heres pics of the diff. with oil in it along with getting the track bar so I can put it on. You can see all the cutting I had to do to the other bracket, may have to do more.

Hopefully tomorrow, get measurements and start drawing everything out so that I can start cutting out metal for it all and whatnot.

That clear cover is cool. Wouldn't want to use it offroad though.

The cover would be nice if you could push rocks with it, be nice to see how your fluid is.

Thing with that cover is, its already been off road, the PO used this axle for that. Its a quarter inch thick cover, no worries there. But this truck, when it sees off road, will be in the mud. I had a D35 axle that had a clear cover that was also given to me along with my D30 and I took a huge hammer to it multiple times and didnt phase it, so I dont have high worries.

Okay on to what I got accomplished tonight.....go the axle mount for the track bar mostly done, I'll do touch up work on it tomorrow.

Looks great man, cant wait to get started on my D30 build next week. I really have to get my ass in gear before the snow hits....keep up the good work! :icon_thumby:

The cold weather is one thing that put this project into high gear.

Got the frame mount for the track bar almost done, just need to do a few more things to it, I'll get picks of it when completed, dont have time right now due to having to leave for work real soon. Hopefully tomorrow that project will be done and I'll have to do is get brakes lines and shocks for it and I will be able to drive my truck again.

Got the track bar mount on, but in order to have the linkage hook up, I need my steering turn one full turn to the left in order for my wheels to point straight....any thoughts on how to fix this?

Has a bit of body movement when I go to turn before it turns, but I need somebody to turn my steering wheel while I check everything.

One full turn, so it looks like it should? You can just straigten your wheel when you get an alignment.

Hmmm, maybe you should of got an adjustable trackbar.

What kind of frame mount did you use?

Once I get the steering all done, next will be my brakes. The last thing will be my driveshaft. I just want to get all the major fabbing stuff done first. Still need to order shocks but I'm not as worried, just want it to be able to drive it again.

I was really suprised how easily my engine started after sitting a couple of weeks. Pumped the gas and fired right up.

nice build so far! I hope to do this to my ranger as soon as i can find the money to get a d30.!
