Just sat down to relax a minute after getting the trans out and heard a crack crack and saw this to my neighbors garage.

Ive seen core supports worse then this work.

Plan is to put the core back and use flat iron and bend it to fit over the cuts and weld it back together. Better, at least in my eyes, to do that then to drill out all of the spot welds then bolt it all back together. thats alot of rust potettail spots and alot more time then I have, which is 7 days I have given myself to get it at least back on the road driving.

<<<<<-- Now I can display this.

Okay here it goes. I used the mustang mounts. Had to switch which side they go on real quick then set it in, marked where to make the slot in the crossmember and soon enough there she sits. Also had to take the passengerside header off to help with the instal. Im done for today, dont have help to lift the transfercase and finalize everything and what for where it wants to sit but will have help tomorrow. Plus it started to rain twice so I called it quits then too.

Now for pics.

Quickly put the rad up to see what I will have to do there too. Have a bit of cutting for that.

2012-08-08174052.jpg

And now to think about how to go about this but have a few ideas and may try a few out and see what happens but like I said, not until I get the transfercase mounted tot he trans.

Day 3.

Got the transfercase in.

Took the original transmission crossmember from the ranger, cut the passenger side, turned it and welded it on and works like a charm. Also had to cut new slots to work.
2012-08-09174135.jpg

Mounted in and good to go. Used the ranger rubber mount too, bolted right up to the fullsize trans and also fell in place of where the ranger trans mounts points are for the frame.

Put the FEAD on to see what will be needed to be cut for the exploder 5.0 rad for it to fit.

Theres more space there then what the picture shows for the exhaust.
2012-08-09195410.jpg

And the distance from the output to the rear end.

What did you use to slot the cross member?
