dangerranger1983 build

I have stud topped shocks and Im told the EB shock towers are like that. I dont have an extra $100 to buy new shocks either. I have a total of 4 inches at the most of up travel with my current set up, dont want to bust a shock. Also need to figure out how to put limiting straps on my front axle too.

ahhh ok.. i understand.

Heres a link to some a bronco graveyard. I wont weld them on but instead bolt them on.

why not just make some??? its basic cut and weld. if my f250's were gonna cost me $50, i would just make them. but then again i got plenty of 1/4" steel left over lol. that's what happens when you buy 20 foot sticks of flat stock instead of just what you need lol. it was only like $30 more to get all 20 foot sticks and i didn't have to wait for the cutting process

You know I only have 4" of up travel too. But I have about 10" or so of down travel. :headbang:

You could always get adapters for the top of your shocks... I think the shock towers I bought were less than $20 each.

I may have less then 4 inches of uptravel but hate to think that Im not using my shocks to their fullest either. As far as down travel I have no clue but I think that is as far as my coils uncompress which is enough for what I want to do with her. Im fine with what I have now but may want more later on when i see how she does offroading and trail driving.

I may just make some tabs and weld them to the lower coil bucket so that I dont have to use limiting straps but still make it so that I can take the coils out.

What was the part numbers for the front output seal from AZ. They have two different numbers one is for the sllip yoke like you have and the other is for the fixed yoke like I have. I need a new front seal again. Want to make sure I order the right one.

I looked up the year of my truck and what it was when it was stock and I only find one seal for the front out put shaft (driveshaft) but it does have two different ones for the rear seal, BW1350 and BW1354, choose your transfercase type.

The one I order was here -----> Click me

Got my seal in today and no wonder it cost so much more...its like twice the size. Hopefully get it in tomorrow and done with that job.

See if you can post a pic of it before you install it. Want to see what it looks like before i go and order the wrong one.

No problem. Didnt have anything on hand to help with sizing it other then my laptop and the stickers on it and what not. This one just like the rear seal are both timken seals, wouldnt want anything else but them.

Will say that you have to drain the transfercase before changing the front seal but not the rear seal and take out the fill plug FIRST so that if the drain one doesnt come out, your not screwed.

Got the seal in, wasnt so bad either but having the tranny cross member in the way didnt help but a screw driver and a hammer helped pry it right out. When I went to drain the transfercase of its fluid it was mud brown and only had a half quart in it compaired to the almost quart and a half that went back in it (filled to fill plug line). Safe to say that it had never been changed.

Next thing to be done will be the front axle if nothing else decideds to go out on me, Just have to get ujoints put on the front axle shafts before tackling that job.

Got the lower coil retainers on, they may be ugly but they will work. Quarter inch steal isnt easy to bend either. Made them so that I can still rotate the coils to take them out.

That ditch was deeper then I thought. I need to get a windsheild mount for my video recorder or the new one that I am looking at. Was starting to rain so thats why the picture looks like it was taken in a rush. Truck is clean now due to the monsune that went over my area lastnight while at work.
