Yeah I was gonna suggest check the trac-bar.

My buddies ZJ had DW and we had a hell of a time finding it.

Turned out that his was also tracbar related and he bought an aftermarket bolt on mount that uses a johnny joint instead of a TRE and this took much of the DW away but he still had it.

Then finally we found that his stock arms weren't making enough castor, so he put a set of adjustable lower control arms, and made them 1/2" longer than stock and he then had plenty of castor. This finally killed DW from him and he hasn't had it since.

Thats what I love about my longarms, they can be adjust to about any limit. I can adjust them at the frame mount or by the lower axle mount (they took the lower axle one off there next model of the same ones) and the tops are almost limit less. Basiclly they make doing and axle push easy if needed and adjustments of everything too.

I will say that a DW is one of the scariest things to happen and nobody should ever have to go through it.

On the other hand was walking out of a gas station tonight and a guy asked me if Im going to sell my truck and of course said nope, he said not even trade for what I have, which is a stock 4wd Jeep truck, still said no but did explain what I did to the truck and he said that I did a great job. But why does EVERYBODY have to bring up that my paint job sucks, not that he said that but did say that if it was painted then it would be sweeter. Im not going to get rid of my hoods color but yes hopefully soon I will be painting the rest of the truck.

Hopefully will be finding out real soon how much the total cost will be to get the u-joint shafts for my d30 and get them all done and what not and put them in when I go to put new axle seals in the front (have to get them next).

Look what arrived!!!!!!!!:headbang::headbang::headbang: Right when I was leaving UPS pulled right up to my driveway.

Now I need to call around and see who can put new ujoints on them the cheapest. I also cant see how Im going to ever snap one of these shafts with what Im going to use my truck for and my enigne size either.

Now to price out axle seals.

You can just put the new u-joints in your self. All you need is a bench vise and a few sockets. That is how I did mine untill I made my press.

The axle seals are a PITA to replace. I tried to make my own tool to install them and went through two sets of seals untill I got them to seat correctly. The next time I have to replace them I will buy the tool.

I thought that they just went in and out like a normal seal, or does the tight space make it that difficult?

As far as ujoint instalation, Ill keep that to the pros, I dont have a good enough vise to do them.

i dunno how crappy your vice is but ive changed u joints with a hammer...

Yep, used hammer before. It's a little harder with out a vise or press. It can be done with a vise in about 2 minute or less.

As far as the seal, I found a write up somewhere about it. I think it was on the jeepforum. That has been so long ago can't remember. Just google it. I'll let you know If I find it.

hey those shafts look very similar to the ones i had... oh wait! they are... lol

glad they'll be put to use. now i need to sale this HP d30 lol

Last time i saw a hammer being used, a cap was cracked. But all this will have to wait till i have the money to rebuild my front end.

Well hells bells. The rear and front transfercase seals are needing replaced along with the front axle seals too. The ransfercase one just started on me and I can see that the seal is bad and should be in tomorrow but now I need to find the time to get it replaced once I get it. The front transfercase one looks to be the heardest as I have a slip yoke on mine.

Heres a link to the thread on more details of what Im asking and saying. Any and all help is welcome.

Well was driving a coworker home tonight and right as I thurned into there neighborhood, got egged on the driverside window. Good thing I didnt have the window down all the way like I normaly do but had it cracked. All I got was a slight spray and egg shell in my mouth. Earlier in the day i had toyed with putting my new doors on, good thing I didnt.

I hate to hear that, back in 87, I bought a new Nissan Pickup, and one night when I was cruising, a girl went to egg someone and missed, and hit my truck, I had her arrested and then she had to pay to have the whole truck repainted.

Oh if I knew that it was for sure that house and not some people going around egging I would have called the cops and had them clean it off with their damn tounges then wash and wax my truck the way it is.

yeah thats 1 way, but ive also broke a u joint in the middle of a pond in my old b2, ended up pulling out the shaft and swapping u joints on the hood with a hammer and a couple blocks of wood and a socket big enough to fit around the u joint caps, that was a very wet day. lol
