Hi

As per the title, are dana automatic locking hubs interchangeable between the different axles? Mine is a 35 and one of the hubs is shot. I have looked for a replacement without success, and was wondering if I could widen the search.

Many thanks (and thanks for the help re my ball joints which are now sorted - I'm gradually getting through the issues!)

Nope. D35 only.

If you are open to manually locking the hubs Warn hubs are great and cheap at JY's. Check into it, you need a few more bits than just the hub.

85 is right. The D28's shafts are much smaller and so a 28 hub won't go over a 35 shaft. The D44 has a 5x5.5 inch lug pattern vs the 5x4.5 inch used on the D35, so those hubs wont' fit over your wheel studs.

I have a set of auto hubs available for a Dana 35. We can work out a deal if you're interested.

Shipping across the pond is going to be killer.

Probably would be. I'm on tapatalk tonight and can't see his location. Sorry.

He doesn't have it in his profile, I just remember from a few other posts that Beerhunter is in the UK.

Thanks all for the replies. Postage is indeed a fun-killer. I guess I'll have to hope I don't need 4wd until I've saved up for manual hubs.

I don't think we had any vehicles sold over here that used the 35 front, so parts are rare.

I have seen the manual hubs for sale somewhere over here, so I'll have a read-up on what else is needed.

Thanks again

The manual hub conversion is easy. So if you can get those parts, I would recommend it. That's the whole reason why I have a set of auto hubs available.

I think I read something about a Jeep rear Dana35 having manual hubs and they fit the ranger d35. If so there is another source for used.

It looks like finding a replacement auto hub in this country is a no-go, so I have got a pair of manual hubs.

The good news is swapping over seems straightforward. The bad news is I can't seem to find the right socket for sale over here.

Before I order one from the US, can anyone confirm this is the correct one?

Many thanks

It looks like the one in my toolbox. The description says 93 and up which may be a misprint because it also says bronco2 which are from 83 to 90. And finally the Explorer which is from 90 up as well. I would say you are good to go with that tool.

That's right and the listing has to be in error about the year range. I have a Ranger with a D-35 and a B2 with a D-28, both with manual hubs, and I only need the one socket.
