I am in the process of rebuilting my dana 35..while removing the coil...the stud broke in half. It is rusty as hell....is there a way to remove the rest of the stud?..i was thinking of drilling it and puting a large bolt...but it will be a hard job...anyone know the price of those stud?
thx guy

You probably just broke the top stud off. Underneath the coil perch the stud has a hex head on it, just undo the lower part of it with a 1-1/8" wrench (heat it with a propane torch first though, Ford used some pretty serious Loctite on those bolts).

I'm sure you can find those studs in the junkyard. Perhaps even for free.

Yes, you'll have to drill and retap that bolt. Or buy another axle arm at the junkyard.

A 10 foot cheater bar and a friend to help you would also be good if you try to do it this way.

yeah I have seen the nut...but it very rusty...I just knock it with the hammer and part of it fly away...I will try something tomorow...been raining for 2 days...if I can get it out with the nut...is there something I could try without having to buy a new arm?..it was a pain to found this one over here so..
thx again guys

thx for all the advice guy....I look at it to quick...there was just a bunch of rust all around the nut...plenty of penetrating oil, half a propane tank and 300lbs of pure muscle...lol and the bitch got out!!
