damn flood!!!

Dats some goooooooood friends to help with a project that big!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pardon the caps...

MOVE OUT OF THE ****ING FLOOD ZONES ALREADY!!!!

Why do people consistently build in flood zones/tornado alley and then cry "whoa is me" when they get bit? Take the insurance, if you were smart enough and lucky enough to get it, and move to higher ground.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO......I know...cause we be stupied.....example: the(some) folks in Loozanna buid in a KNOWN FLOOD SPILLWAY because, being farmers, the soil is so rich in nutients from the flood 75 years ago ...the people realize that in their lifetime, they may get 25 feet of floodwater, but they take the risk....this time--they lost! Beach people aren't much different. Neither are people in Cali that build $$$$$$$ homes on "giant pile of mud". We just be stupied!

i actually agree with jason on something

when you go outside and this is happening, it's a sign from a higher power, MOVE. those that dont are just getting weeded out through natural selection

Good thinking......the only problem is......only 1/3 of the U.S. is actually halfway safe to live in when you rule out all the areas prone to catastrophes....

Then....try packing the entire population into an area that small...talk about genocide.......errrrrr......I meant.....natural selection!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i agree with you DG. but when you're living in a place that looks like my picture above, you're just adding fuel to the fire. you're living on the coast AND below seal level....you're gonna have big problems eventually.

my brother and his wife just moved down to nawlins and bought a place, they cant get flood insurance either. i told him he was an idiot to wanna move there, but he didnt listen. his reasoning is that, it happened in 2005, so they should have a good 30-40 years before it happens again. good thing is, their place didnt flood in katrina, so as long as the next one isnt that bad, they should be fine.

Jason mentions not moving into or living in some areas like "tornado alley". Well, where does a lot of our food come from? This year's tornado alley was down in Alabama, whoo'd have thunk that. Probably shouldn't live where there are Winter blizzards either. Texas is out to because of all the wild fires, opps, that includes a lot of the Western states also. Mother Nature can be beautiful but turn into a bitch next week. Just saw this on the news that may not be good news to the freshly flooded areas down there.

Not all of south Louisiana is below sea level... just New Orleans. I live an hour south of New Orleans and 9' above sea level.

True. But know that and don't whine when you get your ass bit by nature. And don't whine that insurance companies won't cover your losses from completely predictable events.

Which must make you feel great when the Mississippi is going more than that over flood level.

the Mississippi river flood stage is around 35'.....right now the Mississippi river is at 45'......what wrong with this picture since there is no floodwater in Baton Rouge?

The levees here are 17' high, meaning the river water has to rise 7 more feet to overtop the levee......or a ship accidently runs into the levee....or a terrorist blows a hole in the levee....or armadillos have tunneled under the levee in a certain area un-noticed causing water to make the levee "spongy" in that area...or................

anyhow, 50% of baton Rouge would go under water, should the levee break....and we know what would happen to New Orleans which has....like a 17' flood stage....(where....I don't know????!!!!)

that's what i always said about hurricane katrina. while it was an unfortunate event, the people that didnt leave brought it on themselves. you're living below seal level and a hurricane is coming and you wanna try and "ride it out"? if i were dumb enough to live there, i'd evacuate everytime a hard rain came.

and why are people shocked when they live in a flood plain or below sea level and an insurance company wont cover their losses? your insurance premium would not be feasible (unless you were lebron james or tom brady) for a policy written on a property built below sea level. it's not "if" a loss might occur, it's "when" a loss is going to occurr.

well the water is up to the levee at my dads house. the entire boat landing is under water
