daily doubler build

That sounds like the best vacation ever! I'm planning a similar trip for hopefully may 2014 after I rebuild my truck with fruita also on the list for riding.

I can't wait until schools over. Afterwards, I'm loading Ex on the trailer, and heading to EJS. I've always wanted to go. Moab is beyond amazing, so I'd love to be there when its packed

I hear that it's beyond amazing, which is why I want to go when it's DEAD. I want to experience all that the land has to offer without it being over crowded with a million rigs.

That being said, we're currently scheduled to arrive just before Big Saturday of EJS. Guys 'in the know' are saying to reserve that weekend for mountain biking. We'll get to experience EJS without being in the slow moving trails, and the MTB trails actually cross the 4x4 trails in some locations so we'll be right in the middle of all of it. Then the following week we'll be free to roam the place and run whatever we want at our own pace for the most part.

That's the plan right now, if you could call it that. The whole point of this trip is to simply live. We won't know what we want to do until we get there - and then we'll do whatever we want. Tent camping all week wherever we end up that night. Freedom at its finest.

awesome. Kristina would pass out. lol

Haha, it's going to be awesome.

I worked out a deal with Tom Wood. Excellent customer service. I just have to freshen up my spare driveshaft so I can pull the TW shaft and send it to him.

Mother ****er I'm jealous. Why do all the single guys get to have fun?

I have myself a nice little lady now. No ring on her finger, but she keeps me company. :D

And I do what I want. :thefinger:

I take health and fitness pretty seriously. So much that I've been altering my 'training' routine to accommodate adventures like this one. I've cut back on my running and have been cycling more in the gym so we can kill it when we get out west. I've been trying to climb twice a month to keep my skills and climbing strength up so I can climb the harder stuff out there.

The Ultimate Adventure opened my eyes to what adventure really is. It's not just a good time with your buddies. My kind of adventure takes work. Months of preparation (physical, mental, and mechanical) to spend a week in isolation doing things that most people dream about. I would be kicking myself if I drove all the way out there and had a miserable experience because my body wasn't conditioned for the work that is required to really enjoy it. We'll be running long and hard trails, both in the seat and on the saddle.

Don't forget the shortbus full of kids :thefinger:

Alboy and i hit moab in October. Cant wait to go back. We took his tj on 31s and my explorer on 33s. We spent 5 days trail riding. Cant wait to go back.

Pics or GTFO :D

I'd love to post pics and make all of you guys jealous, but I don't think she'd appreciate me showing her off on the internetz, haha.

You have it figured out then...

I dunno if I'd go that far, but I'm trying my best just like everyone else. I'm sure I'll settle down one of these days.

Good to hear man. I'm pretty excited for this trip. We won't spend the whole time wheelin, but it's good to know that there's enough out there to keep us busy for a solid week.

we went for 5 days and only scratched the surface. We didn't make it out to BFE at all. My next trip out there i will definitely be heading out there

I haven't updated this in a while, so here we go.

Right at a month ago, I wheeled FlatNasty for my birthday. Spent the weekend there and stayed in their cabin. The weather wasn't the best, but we had a great time regardless.

I wasted my passenger side shaft assembly. Joint or the shaft - chicken or the egg. Either way, the joint and both shafts were toast. I fixed it there at the cabin and we continues to wheel into the night. Night wheeling is a blast.

We had a trip to Moab planned for the first week in April, so I decided to go ahead and swap out the KM2's with some fresh meats so we were rolling on good rubber for the trip.

Flexed it out to check fender clearances.

Then we headed for Moab the evening of March 28th, arriving mid afternoon Friday. 1300+ miles rocking the half doors - bed loaded with our mountain bikes, climbing gear, and camping gear. Temps dipped below freezing at times. We came through 2 snowstorms in Colorado. We were in our full snow gear, goggles included.

We had until the following Friday to do whatever we wanted. We camped for 7 nights straight at BLM sites in 3 different locations. Wheeled Hell's Revenge, GB Rim, Poison Spider Mesa, Pritchett Canyon, and Moab Rim. Mountain biked Slickrock. Hiked everywhere. It was probably the best vacation I've ever personally planned.
