daily doubler build


Had a pretty leaky front axle seal so I decided to tear the frontend down again. It's now rocking brand new Spicer axle seals and the Alloy X greaseable joints.

Tentative Badlands trip scheduled for November 3rd. Looking like myself and a handful of RZRs at the moment. I love wheeling with those guys.
 
Man I want an ultimate adventure sticker someday... Truck still looks good buddy!
 
I just want my big Ranger to run and drive again!
 
I'd like to build a truck just to do UA, maybe next year I can. Josh, want to be my co-driver :D

Thanks guys. The truck is holding up fairly well. I'm hoping the greaseable joints will extend their life substantially. All of my joint failures were due to them drying out.

Just a word of advice - don't build a truck just for the UA, build it for you. Participants have to be selected by The Man himself, and some applicants may never get the opportunity to go on the trip.

The UA is all about living the offroad lifestyle anyways. Build, wheel, apply, and if you don't get accepted; that's OK because your life should be an Ultimate Adventure anyways. That's how I looked at it.

Hey Bray, you are still running an explorer 8.8 with custom shafts to make it 5 on 5.5 correct?
 
Bray, like you said, just going wheeling is the UA. Unfortunately SVT has evolved way too fast into a trailer queen to most upcoming trails I plan to attend. Right now plans are to have the Trac as the tow rig/chase truck, so that might become the street driven wheeler. I got my eyes on a new tow rig/dd...

I'm looking into a set of those shafts myself when I swap in the D44.

I've never heard of them.

You have to measure up your own shafts and give them the dimensions, but they'll manufacture whatever configuration you want. I've been beating on mine for years with no issues at all. Fairly priced as well.
 
Sweet, i might be getting a sweet deal on a geared and locked 8.8 so i may go the narrowed d44 route

I went wheelin at the Badlands again this weekend as well. No pics, same old stuff, but everything went well. I ran around with 3 Polaris RZRs. It's a blast wheelin with those guys. They try the same obstacles I do, but they have a different approach to them to say the least. I crawl ledges - they jump them. haha
 
Was that the only pic in the newest one? Seems like there was a little pic by the letters section toward the end of the mag, but my copy is at home so I can't check.
