daily doubler build

fawkin 220 bucks! They had to build everything from the manifold flanges to the cat. I'm sure it took some time, there was some tricky bends. They tucked it up super close to my bell housing so that's good. My front driveshaft used to be like 1/4" away from the exhaust at full compression. Plenty of room now.

hmmm, not too bad really. I bet I will have half that into materials to do it myself and it will be all welded butt joints and not just one bent tube.

Yeah, exhaust work is expensive. I don't regret it, its nice.

i usually do exhaust myself, just depnds on what all im doing. did mine on the ranger from the y-pipe back, though it isnt the prettiest because i just used up a bunch of exhaust scrap off a couple other jobs.

maybe i missed it but what muffler did you go with?

My exhaust from the Y pipe back is the same as it was with the 3.0. Its a cheap ass "turbo" muffler.

Got the dried up u-joint swapped out today, and got my doubler shifter mounted back up.

Hoping to meet up with Explorin94 tomorrow and do a little wheelin. We'll see.

Good luck!

When you gettin bigger meats? This thing is beggin for some 37's.....you know, 37's are the new 35's.

Damnit, I typed out a long thing about today then I got kicked off of the 'net and I lost the post. So here's the shortened version:

Explorin was busy with Mother's Day stuff today, so I called up another buddy to do some wheelin. Went up to his place, had a great time.

His rig: 'yota, 22re, doubler, stretched on 39.5" boggers

He owned me on a lot of obstacles, mostly due to being lighter, on a larger tire, and running lower pressure.

Loose climbs, I was able to rip in 3rd gear single low. With the 4.0, I'd say 3rd gear is what 2nd gear was with the 3.0 (power wise). So I can now hold 3rd, and 2nd has power at will. Spin tires at any rpm in 2nd. Awesome.

Pics of his rig:

Only pic I got of my rig:

We were coming across that ridge, straight towards where the pic was taken from. Driver's tire sucked off, pulled the truck with. Sides were STEEP. Hooked a strap to the frontend to pull me in the right direction. Textbook extraction. Sooo, my getting hung up there was the only opportunity I had to take a pic of my truck.

That pic looks weak as shit, but it was steep on the driver side. Any more throttle would've sucked the frontend down, unloading the rear. Pucker meter was on the rise.

Yes, cell pics suck. :thefinger:

Does the main fuel tank need to be removed from the 93+ rangers to install a doubler?

I'm planning a extended cab swap onto a extended frame std cab/long bed 2wd frame that will eventually be a 4wd sas & I already have both 1350 & 1354 transfer cases & 2.3 L 5spd 4wd tranny & a D30 from a 92 Comanche.

I'm in the process of installing a Bronco II 23 gal rear tank as I want to have both tanks even when I have the 4wd SAS & doubler done.

Yup, the tank has to move when you use a 1354E for the rear case (the electric motor gets in the way). If you have a 1354M rear case, it should fit, but it'll be tight.

I have a 1350 & 1354 & both are manual, which is the better to use for the main & the doubler? And is there still people making the adapter plate & stub shaft?
