daily doubler build

Here's "The Wash". I need to get creative with mounting locations. This one isn't too exciting, but it gives you an idea of what it was like. I was in double low, first gear the entire trail. Other than the first part by that tree, I never disengaged the clutch. Got slowed up in a couple spots but there was always forward progress. Perfectly challenging.

We wheel about the same, (double low, just creeping along), not very exciting video wise, but it helps keep things alive.

Thanks for posting those vids!

I agree dude, the wash was my favorite trail. Which one was Rock House? I don't think I ran it, although looking at my truck afterwards you wouldnt be able to tell. Lol.

Bray, what gears are you running with the 37's? Are they okay for town and highway driving?

4.56's in the axles right now. It's slightly over geared from stock (speedo reads 75 to run 70 according to my GPS), but it's pretty good. 4.88's would probably be better as far as acceleration/power is concerned. You'd be winding it up pretty good on the highway though. GPS 70mph puts me around 2600rpm.

I know it's not exciting to watch. lol. Like you said though, it keeps things alive and you can really go some places if you know how to crawl. If I can't crawl it, I'll give it a good bump in double low 2nd gear. If it still doesn't come up, I'll pull rope. If it takes more than that, I need to change my setup somehow.

I've got more vids, just need to sort through and edit them.

You'd remember Rock House if you came up it. If you still have rear glass, you probably would've lost it on this trail (if you took the line we did). I've got video of Greg coming up it and bouncing his tube bed off a tree pretty good. I'll upload that one tonight.

I think Rock House was the furthest trail to the right. If you just climbed the Waterfall and took a 90* right turn, you would run into it (I think). The run started at the bottom of the hill though.

I don't have back glass for a reason. Lol

lol that's why I said "If you still have rear glass". Wasn't sure if it'd already evacuated the vehicle or not. haha

Turns out the video isn't as cool as I remembered. I think I actually took the line to the left of that tree. That rock pushed me passenger hard as my frontend came up one it - flattening my passenger side front quarter panel. There was another tree up the hill a ways that reached out and took my tail light with it.

Hey man, I am in the process of building a doubler and was wondering where you got your kit from.

Also truck is looking great man!

I have a D.D. Machine kit that I got used from a guy on Pirate.

Wish I could have made it. She'll be running soon....I hope.

It's a fender! Not a quarter panel! :flipoff2: No wonder I couldn't figure out what the hell else you dented! Lol
