mine has stock auto hubs. I cant get the very last threaded funky nut off. Ive put big channel locks around then and it still wont spin off. How to do?

If you're good with a welder you could make a similair tool. My friend made one for his 78 FSB. That'll save you $20. I just bought one.

Guys, guys, guys.

Simple stuff first. When done properly, that nut will USUALLY come off with just your fingers.

The problem at hand is that the key is still in place. He can put a 20 foot telephone pole on his channel locks and it STILL won't loosen (though it will almost certainly break). What he needs is a $3 magnetic pickup tool to pull the key out of the slot on the spindle. It will all come apart much easier that way.

tried the magnet truck...still didnt wanna grab onto anything and pull it out. I am kinda confused here. The setup is totally different than my d28. I took a few pics here if anyone cant point me in a direction from here.

Do you see the key way slot? You might have to put a socket on the nut and move it a little bit cuz the nut might have tightened up against the key.

Just hold the magnet on the key and move the large nut back a bit to take off the pressure. It should slide right out and the nut isn't on very hard at all.

um ya thats what I said lol.

Might need to blast some carb cleaner in there to melt that old grease and loosen the key.

I know, it's just easier to use some kind of open end tool (vs a socket as you stated) and hold the magnet there while moving back and forth...just trying to give him some options ;)

um ya thats what I said lol.
