D28 4.88?

^this.

Its like people that say they cant get stuck, or havent been stuck.

They obviously havent been wheeling the places Ive been....

i didnt really hate mt D28 and i had 35s. im not saying i didnt get stuck, i did....alot lol. im just sayin if your smart about it you wont always break a D28. and i wasnt always smart about it. maybe i just lucked out?

they work great with stock tires or 31's with stock power.

when lifted with bigger engines and tires.....:shok:

if you dont hate d 28's and have 33 inch aggressive tires....you have not been "wheelin" in a place that required 4x4 and motor at the same time.

thats just the way it is.

lol...i know when i was wheeling it got to be a 30 minute process to change shafts on the d28 because anytime i really had to hammer on with 33" boggers on it( i know boggers are axle killers, but still) id hear the familar sound of the long side shaft breaking and then smacking around lol

Put 4 spot welds on the caps of the u joints. With the exception of shafts twisting 9 times out of 10 the caps walk out on the u joints and break the shaft ends under hard accelerations. I did a moderate amount of wheeling with a D28 4.10's and 35's and kept the same shaft in it for over 2 years of moderate wheeling.

Ive found one decent tack is enough.

From experience with one take I've still had them break not to mention when you need to change the u joints it can sometimes be a pita with one large weld on it compared to 4 spot welds when you grind them down.
