ok so i started my diagnosis the other day on my cruise control. Im really determined to get this fixed. I diagnosed the Cruise Control Servo. I bought a Mityvac Vacuum Pump from Cornwell at work the other day and figured im gonna need it anyways. So i followed diagnosis instructions for the servo. I received 14-15 in-hg at the Vacuum Source(Passed Inspection). I then stroked the pump after connecting it to the inlet on the servo where the main vacuum source connects. I stroked the pump to 15 in-hg and it held vacuum up to 30 seconds, then decreased to 13 in-hg.(Passed Inspection) I then attempted to setup a jumper wire setup to see if the servos electrical connections were shot, but i didnt have the right stuff. So i called it a night.
So my main problem is my cruise control isnt even activating, i press ON at 60MPH and then SET and it doesnt engage. So im wondering if its the electrical connections, such as the brake or clutch switch. So my questions are, does a faulty brake or clutch switch cause the entire cruise control to be inoperable. And also how can i go about diagnosing if its something else like the actual switch or possibly the amplifier? Id appreciate any help or advice! Thanks!
