Was on my way to work down a notoriously bad stretch of highway when the lady in front of me slammed on her brakes for some reason. I couldn't stop in time

And what it used to look like :(

Dude, sounds like you are at fault on this one. Are you ok? Get a ticket?

1. OUCH!!!!!!!

2. Glad you're O.K.

ouch!

what was she driving? thats a really high hit. also cus it higher, i bet the frame is still good, and you can get it fixed. the fenders dont look bend, so the supports must be ok.

let us know, and im sorry to hear that man.

She was driving a Chevy Equinox. She got pushed into an F150. The F150's rear bumper got screwed and not much else. The Equinox's rear liftgate got pushed in and the front grille a little screwed up but overall wasn't bad damage at all. My truck got the worst of it, and was the only one not drivable :(

Well that blows! Looks fixable though.

Damn man so sorry to see that. glad u and the other persons involved are ok. In the end thats what matters.

Seems like your truck can be fixed. Let us know how it goes.

Yeah, that is super fixable. I patched up one that looked kinda like that. It wasn't pretty, but that's because we just replaced parts, didn't paint anything.

Both airbags deployed, the radiator and radiator support is screwed (you can see the puddle of coolant in the pic), I guess the frame flexed a bit because I now have 2 small dents in the back of the cab where the bed hit the cab. I'm mostly worried it won't feel right after it's fixed. And I'm super pissed this is going to cost me $500 (deductible) + 179 (ticket) and way higher insurance. :pissedoff:

oooo... if the cab hit the bed, the insurance may write it off. hey man, be glad you have collision. this is a reminder to me to not follow too close. if it happened to me, id pay out of my pocket. i have no collision on my truck.

time to build something big and dirty! hopefully the block is ok, but who knows, you might get a new engine! lol

geeze, that sucks, glad your ok, what did the car infront of you stop for?
i have to be extra carefull and stay back more cause i dont have power brakes and people with power brakes like to brake harder and stop further than i can.

looks like the bumper is tweaked a little, might need to replace that...

hey, that's not bad, i did the same thing, but black ice was involved, and because we didn't stay at the accident scene and wait for police, just exchanged info and went our way, no ticket, but my deductible was 1000$ :(

after the extra work i wanted done (custom paint, and a few bucks extra for a different grill and bumper[insurance payed most of it]) i had a 1700 bill, with tax of course... and it all had to be paid upfront before i got my truck back...

and to top it off, my skid plate was never fixed, and the front cab bolts were bent pretty bad and snapped when i tried to do the body lift

total bill on mine was about 7000$

That sucks for you dude. Around my area, I got to be careful about jumpers. People that don't like to brake for the vehicle in front of them, so they jump lanes. Leaving the person behind them with a surprize stopped vehicle in front of them with less reaction time and distance to stop.

And the person that stopped suddenly must have a reason that they did it. If they did it for no reason or not enough reason, then they are very much at fault too. Thou they can easily say that they did it to avoid a collision of their own.

Hope you can get your Ranger fixed up right again.
