Crank Position Sensor 94 Ranger

So the crank position sensor (CPS) on my truck is gonna need to be replaced and the mechanic wants $600 I don’t have to replace it. Any suggestions on how I go about changing it?
 
You should tell us what engine it is.

IIRC On the 4.0l, it's an 8mm [5/16"] bolt that holds it on right beside the crankshaft on the left side. I would say it's a fairly easy DIY job. Hardest part will probably getting the wire harness disconnected.

Its in the 4-cyl section, so probably a 2.3L.

Those you have to pop the crank pulley and timing cover off IIRC.
