Cracked floors on B2

The 84 and the 87 are both cracked. Still havnt looked at the 90. The 84 I noticed BEFORE I chopped it, and the 87 is still stock, and I dont think its ever been wheeled, but its crack is worse.

my truck has it too, its like a 3 incch long crack along the door seal on the floor. its odd, i thought someone before me hit something, because it was like that when i got it

I've got no carpet and bed liner in the truck so you can pretty much see anything that's messed up with the floor.

I noticed right after I got the truck that there is a very small crack near the driver's seat. It was so small I just put some JB weld on it and touched up the liner in the floor. It's my daily beater so most probably won't notice that stuff.

It's impact damage.

If you look at where the crack tends to form, it's from slamming back in your seat on landings, and/or some huge friggin guy driving the truck at some point.

my floor is cracked where the left front driver's seat bolts down, a couple inches in front, and the stock seat's back has a busted weld opposite that, which lends credit to my theory.

mine is chopped also and has the crack at the front corner of the driverside rear window

i bolted some bucket seats to the floor in my 1990 B2. I used grade 8 bolts and 1in washers. while rallying it down a trail I Hit a rut and got thrown forward put a small dent in the bumper from the tree but my floor pan ripped out around the washers so now my seat is sitting on a couple 2x4s until I can weld in something better but under inspection of the passenger seat I as well found cracks.

Helpful hint dont hit a rut and follow it into a tree

my b2 is the same way, look at the 1st page of my build for pics, click "the juice box" in my sig

Old thread, but yes they do. Welded mine up about 8 years ago.

Yeah, I noticed the tear in mine back in November when I started taking the trans out. Did some asking at work and found out that it's from too much stress on the driver's seat bracket.

Makes sense I guess. I know my Ranger has never really had anyone bigger than me in the driver's seat, and it isn't torn. The B2 has a long and unknown history.

i also just looked and under the plastic thing right next to the door lone behold a 4 inch crak on both pass and driver side i wonder y that spot does that i think i might look into it and ask a my grandmas friend he use to build the b2s for for maybe he might know its worth a try

Hmmm,
My 88 was cracked too.:icon_welder:But my 87 does not have any issues with the floor, just rust in all fenders and body seems..... sigh....

Probably is from abuse. My '84 has no cracks, hell it doesn't even have much surface rust on the bottom of the floor :) But with under 60K on the vehicle, it hasn't been abused offroad.

mine's fine there... mine had issues behind the driver seat, under the door, on the outside...

and then again where the top is welded on at the b-pillar and behind the back glass.. had to reweld it.

and of course had to add some glue and push up the roof support bars to make the roof stop popping, but that's a different issue.
