I did a search and didnt find anything, but has anyone else had a problem with the floor of their B2's cracking / breaking? Two of my 3 B2's have what look like tears in the driver floor, near where the left front seat bolt is, but outboard towards the door sill. I dont have pics right now. Its most obvious by looking from underneath the truck.

They dont appear to be rust outs, but actual metal fatigue / tearing. It doesnt look like a stress spot, but it must be. Guessing maybe too many ppl pushing the seat back too hard? or leaning back to get into their wallet while seatbelted in? (which usually breaks the seatback in my experience with fords).

Just curious if anyone else has this problem.

Not sure what the root cause is but my B2 had cracks in the floor pan. I thought it was a rust issure. I pop riveted some heavy aluminum sheet metal over the area.

the floors in these truck get fatigue. The frame twist. These trucks really werent ment to be abused like we do.

well, I guess that pretty much answers that, its not just my rig. I thought maybe the b2 got hung up on a rock or something and poked thru the floor, or something. Looks like its just a weak spot on all of them.

ya i have the same cracks. both sides. also i get it on the front corner at the back window's. because the body flexes to much with the top hacked

went outside and looked and sure enough, sticking out like a sore thumb. now i cant stop thinking about how im going to fix it. i hate when people point out these things on my truck!!!

You guys got me worried enough to go out and look at mine too. Fortunately nothing found (*whew*).

Do all of you finding the cracks have chopped tops? Or maybe it's an earlier model thing?

chopped, not chopped, early (84), later (87), but all are "1st" gen's.

Mine is an 88 and I found the same thing, also I found some on the left inner rear fender well. It had a big one and I thought maybe someone had run over something to make it...hehe like a fence post. I took a hammer and closed all the gaps and ran a bead of weld. I might get some metal and try to weld a plate to help the strength in this area.

'85, no chop but was real rusty.

Mine has no carpet in it and that was one of the first things I noticed when I bought it. I was just like "thats weird, oh well" I bought the truck as a dd and the occasional mud trip, not for show so it don't bother me.

86 chopped. floor cracks and on corner of window, but i flex it hard...
