Coronavirus

I just ordered from the little italian place down the street. They are still open for deliveries. They said they don't know for how long though, the owner said 80% of his business is dine in customers and he is losing money staying open just to deliver a few pizzas. Most places around here have simply closed all together for that reason. I gave the delivery kid a 20 dollar tip cause I felt bad.

@Dirtman still has me chained to the water heater in his basement, but I felt compelled to work a hand free and share this. Worth a read IMO. Explains the level of panic very well.

Apologies if this has already been posted.

Ok, time to chain myself back up and pretend like I never posted anything. Be back soon (yell at Dirtman if you want me back sooner).

I've been delivering pizzas for nearly a month now. Biggest tip so far is $19. I was hoping people would be ordering in more often now with covid but that doesn't seem to be happening. Maybe after they get tired of cooking their toilet paper?

Speaking of college, my day is suppose to graduate in May with her teaching degree. She's been putting in her required hours of student teaching so she can graduate, and she applied for a teaching position opening up in the district. But they've suspended classes, so she's not teaching. Not sure what they'll do yet, or if she'll graduate.

Plus, she's getting married in June in Ohio. Not sure right now how that's going to play out either.

So much uncertainty.

It will work out ok, Jim--Just went thru my daughter, getting married last year--It's a major headache, when things go correctly!!!! With the speed we seem to operate at these days, Patience, seems so hard to fall back on, but when remembered/achieved, solves so many issues/problems!!!:icon_thumby:

When are people NOT standing in line to buy guns and ammo? :dunno:

We lived in South Fla, Dade County. Remember riding our bikes to a large fenced field in North Dade and you could see the Hawk Missile batteries set up along with the portable radar units.
Would watch the flights of F-8's, F-100's and F-105's taking off/landing at Opa Locka Airbase. Only fighters, runways weren't long enough for the big stuff.
Everything was closed, nothing could be had at stores. Still went to school and practiced the "Drop and Cover" every day.

I lived in Tampa, near MacDill AFB. I remember seeing B58 bombers flying overhead. It was awesome to see the delta wing.

Well when I do it it usually looks less like standing in line and more like wandering around the store looking for a useful employee who can unlock the ammo cabinet and get me what I want.

Both are equally frustrating activities.

I just buy from bulkammo.com cheaper, less hassle, and coronavirus free.

These are the times that try men's (and women's) souls.

Paraphrasing Thomas Paine

Ammoseek.com is a handy place too. Has it gotten bad enough for a army enforced quarenteen? Or shut in whatever you wanna call it.? I hear crazy things all over but I have no idea what's even true anymore. As it sits in akron Ohio
The store are open but are empty mostly.
The restraunts are closed but for carry out.
And today they closed everything else gyms movie theaters etc etc.
I haven't heard of an official enforced curfew or anything. My job is still open. (Industrial work)

My son is due to graduate in May from engineering - his profs were on the ball, they had electronic classes set up for the students on Friday. So, he attended all his classes today from his dorm room. They're have techs run the labs and sending the results out for the students to analyse and complete reports on. They are still working the details of the term project presentation - some sort of Skype meeting.

Other than his "Calling of an engineer" ritual being postponed, everything else is pretty much on track for him.

He just hopes the economy is in adequate shape that there is a job for him.
