I have a 99 ranger xlt with 114000 miles on it. I ran off the road and hit a tree stump over the winter and snapped my tie rod end clean from the steering knuckle. I replaced both parts and went in to have a shop allign the truck and they said that the lower ball joints were bad. So i spent a pretty penny and had em press new ones that week. Got it back after they aligned it and it still pulls to the right so i took it back and they said that the lower control arm was bent. So im going to buy and replace the lower control arm myself because i just had them press a new ball joint on that side for no reason(seeing as to how lower control arms come with pressed ball joints). So im a little pissed at the shop for wasting my time and money but my question is, if im going to replace the lower control arm what else should i look to replace while im in there and what brand of control arm do you recommend. Im going to replace both sides and i am thinking about replacing the torsion keys, depending on how bad they are worn. Let me know what you guys think and sorry about the book lol.

What I would probably do is look for an OE control arm from an auto wrecking yard, then press the new ball joint you have now into that. The control arm itself is not normally an item that goes bad in normal service, so your chances of finding one in decent condition should be good.

Welcome to TRS, by the way. :icon_thumby:
