Considering buying this if i have the money/get in for a third year at college

Its not a bad price, especially if the trans and body/frame are in good shape. My only question is...

What do you need it for?

If you have a legit use for that truck, go ahead and grab it, but if you are still in school (which I am, so I know how it is) and you don't need it, I'd pass.

well i could get it i am looking at staying for a 3rd year at college to take the Truck and Diesel Technician course , so i need something to fart around with

once i graduate my family owns a contracting company so it will give me a work truck , we have two work trucks right now and one has to have the engine pulled ( it is a diesel but i wont touch it ) the two we have now are a 1998 GMC 3500Hd with a 6.5 Turbo in it ( in the process of being sold ) and the other is a 1995 F-Super Duty with a 7.3 Powerstroke ( needs major engine work , but with all the aux. hydraulic components i dont want to work on it ) , both have Altec 35' Bucket Lifts ( Telephone company trucks ) and the problem we have is they are both 2wd and get stuck , so i want a 4x4 Diesel i can carry my stuff in and use for work

you meant to type $250 right!

nope , it is $2500 , and that is one of the cheapest Ford diesels i have found , i found a 97 F-350 with a 7.3 Powerstroke , 4x4 , for $7000 and it had 200k on it :shok: :shok:

I use to own a 1986 f350 with the 6.9. I sold it 3 years ago The 7.3 are pone to cavitation. Thedieselstop.com is a great website for these trucks. if you can find a dealer around where you live go to an auction with him and pay him a fee. They would give that truck away at an auction.

i am a dealer and i go to the auctions , and these trucks never come through anymore , trust me

2500 is NOT too much for that truck with only 80k on it. no question about it.

and if the body and frame are solid, thats a steal!

it looks like it could use a waxing......but really 80,000-ish miles isn't very high for a diesel engine. Maybe go offer him like 2000 see what he says. It seems like a good heavy duty truck i'd definately make sure it runs really well but it doesn't seem to bad for the mileage.

i think i have an idea of who owns it , once i confirm that i am signed up for a third year i will buy it , i will probably go look at it this weekend if he still has it
