Coleman Liquid Fuel

Took a little nap. I know what a disc is but was clueless as to specs, or even what's a cowboy wok, or that other word you used, so had to search, wound up watching utube over an hour on cooking steaks. I presume now you wouldn't want a broke or bent one, and guessing an 18-24" one would be about ideal. I'll keep an eye for some around here, message me if you've got any other particulars

On a redemptive measure to maybe getting this (excellent thread) back on subject, I saw a cowboy wok for truckers, only $299.99! that even included a "cheap Coleman burner" that works on 1 lb bottle (bottle Not included) ;)

Josh… Shran started the skottle thing when he posted about one he made. I love to cook and when I seen it I wanted one. Not sure what the ideal size is... maybe a little smaller for camping.

@Josh B see below ;)

@Uncle Gump I'd start with a smaller one. The one with food on it below is huge and heavy. It just stays on my porch all the time... the one below it is a lot lighter and smaller. I think smaller discs work fine since all of the heat is concentrated in the center anyway... both of mine are just warm to the touch near the outside even after cooking for a while.

Yes... I just NEED one of those.

I bought a turkey fryer frame assembly last year at a garage sale for $2. That is going to be my base. I was thinking I would cut it down to picnic table height and so my Coleman 508 will slide under it. I even bought a length of 3/8 steel rod to make my handles. I hope I have one ready for a spring steelhead fishing trip I have planned with a couple fishing buddies. I can already see some bacon wrapped steelhead nuggets and some venison dirty rice cooking on it. @Shran … do you happen to know this size of the smaller one?

I want to say the disc itself is around 18". I bought a 21" cymbal carrying case and it fits inside that, barely, if the handles stuck out any further it would not fit.

Dirty rice for me is like Mac and Cheese or Mashed Potatoes and Gravy... total comfort food.

I'll bet I can make my PB&J French Toast on my 508 stove and a skottle… lol

:oops: WOW. That is an impressive collection.

Might have been an employee or something...

Looks like you'll need to be present in Gardner KS on March 27.
350 lots, better take a lunch ;)
