I put a 3" coil spring spacer on my 08 2wd ranger. About 2 weeks later, it settled about an inch which made it ride really bouncy. I put the rancho rs5000 maximum travel shocks which said 1" to 2.5" lifts and they bottom out. Any ideas on what could've caused this?

I've been told the most you can put is a 2" spacer or you'll have to get an after market control arm to compensate for the extra spring length

Well I kinda ghetto rigged the shocks to make them not bottom out anymore but I guess I have to live with the front being slightly lower than the back again.

What spacers did you use? I installed 2in spacers a few months ago and they haven't settled. I don't think it would if they were aluminum. Maybe its the way you installed them or seated the springs? You installed them with the open part facing the outside right?

a spacer should not settle. sounds to me like you broke one. spacers should have zero play or compression.

Shitty poly ones do settle over time..... they mushroom out til the break. You're seriously way better of stacking steel washers than the spacers. Took me almost a year to break mine.

he cant stack washers. The spacer is a convex/concave horseshoe type that sits on the top or bottom of the coil. what is really better in spindles and replacement coils.
