Clutch slave assembly question

Hello, we are in the middle of working on my son's 1987 Ranger 4X4 2.9 extra cab.
The bell housing was cracked, and the starter bolt holes were drilled out, and stripped. We went and picked up a whole bell housing, clutch, etc. at the wrecking yard.
All this only to discover the clutch slave cylinders are different. :icon_surprised: The one on his pushes in and twists on to the bell housing to hold it. The new set is bolted in with two small bolts.
My question is can we convert to an external clutch slave assembly? The new bell housing has holes that look like it would accommodate such a conversion.

Thanks for the help.

8/28 Figured it out.
