Clutch pedal position

Hi, everyone.
Could you please help me? I have a 1994 Mazda B3000.
I’ve bypassed the clutch pedal position sensor. There are two wires there, and I shorted them together.
I know it’s not safe, but I’m already used to starting the engine with the clutch pedal depressed.
So, I’ve heard on forums that the ECU somehow adjusts the engine RPM in response to this sensor for shifting gears...
My question is: will shorting the wires have any effect on the engine’s power and performance? The ECU sees the clutch pedal as permanently depressed all the time.

I'm not a hundred percent sure. I don't think it affects power. But it may lower the rev limiter setting so you don't over-rev the engine with no load on it.

I've checked it many times—the rev limiter kicks in at 5,250 rpm, right where the red zone starts.
Is that supposed to be the case?
 
Also curious, as I also disabled the clutch sensor in my B2.
Haven't noticed any adverse effects...but then again, I don't rev my 2.9 above 4k 😁
 
Some members have reported a 3k rev limit in neutral. Seems to be completely random if it's there or not though.
