Started on my manual swap. Got the tcase out and have to wait until tomorrow when my friend can come and help to get the trans out. So I decided to swap in the mean time to get something. I found the plug the I believe to be the clutch interlock switch.
Here is the plug.

and here is the plug that mounts to the clutch bracket.

They do not fit. From what I read they should just plug in. Do i need to go get a different one. I got this one from a 87b2.

You need this style, for 88+.

It just clips onto your master cyl rod, then u remove the jumper wire from the under dash plug then plug the connector in. I didn't use a clutch interlock, I'm in the habit of holding the clutch in when I start it anyways

Yeah im just doing it just in case plus i just want to make it look like it came from the factory a manual after im done.

When i went to the junkyard today with a buddy to find a part for his 89 yota. Looked in a ranger and the CIS i found had a tan or white rod inside it connected to a piece that stationary to the aluminum bracket. I didn't feel like getting in the water to get it out. (alot of melted snow). But I think im just going to but one from AZ because i have credited money so i wouldnt have to pay anything.

Could someone possible post a picture so I could see exactly how its mounted. Thanks.

Here's the newer style switch. Its a little fuzzy, dont blame me, its not my pic. It just slides on the linkage.

88 B2 Clutch Interlock Switch issue

Hey guys I have an 88 B2 and am having issues with my clutch interlock switch big time. I replaced my starter, solenoid, ignition switch and the interlock switch a few months back and now it is acting up again. It was firing sometimes when I held the key in the start position and pushed the clutch in. But now its not wanting to start at all. I replaced the switch again with no luck. I found that if I held my right foot on the clutch and tapped the switch with my left foot it would fire. Is there a short? Maybe a wire is loose? I was reading something about a grommet that would cause some problems but I don't know anything about that.. I am fairly frustrated :annoyed: and would love to find some helpful advice. Thanks alot everybody.

Helpful advice? Go find the jumper plug pictured at the very beginning of the thread and put it in place of your switch. If your problem doesn't clear up you have wiring issues.

Oh I remember that catastrophe of a switch. I had mine break on the way to class one day in college. I put the clutch in to shift and the rod just snapped off. Called the junk yard, they wanted $10 more than NAPA for one.

Do I just have to go to a junk yard to find one? It has been quite a catastrophe haha thanks for your help
