I'm trying to remove the clutch master cylinder on my 91 Ranger (2.3 liter, 5 speed) so I can bleed/replace it (for more details, see this thread: http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=151193 ). First time doing this. At the moment, I'm stuck trying to remove the line from the master to slave; particularly the quick disconnect fitting at the slave cylinder.
One video I watched said to take a screwdriver and push the white plastic ring forward, then tug on the fitting and it should pop out. Either I'm not doing something right, or I need to tug harder, but it doesn't want to come out. I'm trying to avoid breaking anything.
I'm trying to get this out first before I disconnect everything else at the pedal, because I don't want to get that far and then get stuck here. Should I do that first though?
