Hello I'm new to this website and to posting to forums. I have a 99 ranger 4x4 with a 3.0 l engine and 5 speed trans. I'm having a hard time with my clutch. I replaced everything except for the master cylinder, couldn't get it to bleed and stiffen up. Replaced the master cylinder with a pre-bled set up, works great, but the rod that connects to the pedal won't stay on the pedal, and the rod won't lock into the cylinder that goes through the firewall. My old one is locked in and it doesn't fall off . The new one works but falls off the pedal after about 2 or 3 presses of the pedal. I've taken the lock ring out of the inside of the piston, put the rod in and the ring back in place but that doesn't do anything to the rod. Any thoughts?
