clutch diode location

boyahh

in the harness, at the clutch, a few inches back from the plug on the compressor.

my symptoms were that everything check out ok, up to the clutch itself. i had power through the cutout switch, WOT relay was cycling (i assume it cycles at lower speeds, and functions as the WOT cutout as well...?) but the clutch wouldnt engage. i check it by jumping 12 volts to it and it worked, so just now i tracked down the diode, cutout the old one, jumpered my new one, wiggled my cut out switch harness because thats messed up, and presto- AC in the truck. just posting this all up so it can be searched. i only found one other posting about a diode situation similar to mine.
